The company

"I have been involved in professional dancing for twenty-five years now, and there are still quite a few topics left that I did not have the opportunity to set on stage," Dusan Hégli, choreographer.

The Dusan Hegli Company represents a new theatrical genre, which is primarily based on traditional dance and music but at the same time is concerned with the man of today with his everyday joys and sorrows. This new concept incorporates wide-ranging, diverse activities, including the application of traditional dance and music in a theatrical presentation embedded in a new context. When speaking of traditions, many people do not expect a credible presentation of dance or movement, but wish to see an old choreography with its often naive stage solutions. However, the essence of art is to present things from a yet unseen perspective. Whether it is a painting or even a choreography.

The Dusan Hegli Company has no permanent staff. The number of staff is determined by the needs and opportunities of the production. "We have some excellent people who now help my work, but the company will not have permanent members. I am planning to create independent and joint productions with other institutions alike. "

The main profile of the company is the creation of stage and dance productions, but they also have a cultural vocation, as Dusan Hégli has long been involved in professional trainings, national events, dance houses and the organisation of collections.

"This is an attempt at the creation of a non-existent theatrical genre, which of course has a potential risk too. I am not afraid of anything, and so the responsibility is only mine. Cooperating partners are easier to find for settled things. That's why we start this way. The rest of it is up to theatre goers and art lovers anyway, since art has become one of the most expensive luxury goods these days." Dusan Hégli

There are certainly outstanding productions in music, dance and other fields of the Hungarian art scene as a whole, it is, however, only the deep and thorough knowledge of the roots that may result in an artistic synthesis manifested in Dusan Hégli’s choreographies
